About Dr. Iorio

Timothy Iorio, MD is a board-certified Orthopedic Hand and Upper Extremity Surgeon at Hand and Microsurgery Associates in Columbus, Ohio. He specializes in nonoperative and operative treatment of hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder conditions. His practice provides treatment for a variety of conditions, including: nerve compression syndromes, arthritis, tendon lacerations or ruptures, ligament injuries, sports injuries, work-related injuries, and fractures in patients of all ages.

An Ohio native, Dr. Iorio completed his medical school training at The Ohio State University. He then completed a comprehensive, Orthopedic Surgery residency at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, where he gained extensive training in the treatment of shoulder conditions, including minimally-invasive arthroscopic procedures. He finished his clinical training with a fellowship in Hand Surgery at the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center. Following training, Dr. Iorio returned to Central Ohio in 2012 where he has been practicing for over 10 years.

He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Iorio and his wife have three children, who keep him busy outside of work. He also enjoys running and exercising, watching college sports, and spending time with family and friends.

PHILOSOPHY
Conditions of the hand and upper extremity can be quite debilitating. I am humbled by the opportunity to improve an individual’s quality of life. With the understanding that no two patients or conditions are alike, I attempt to tailor care to the specific needs of the patient. My treatment approach balances conservative medical care with state-of-the-art surgical procedures. Informed decision making is critical to this approach, and I place an emphasis on education regarding the risks and benefits of treatment options.
