Dr. Joseph F. Wilcox is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, fellowship-trained in sports medicine. With extensive training in operative and non-operative orthopedic treatments, he treats most sports related conditions including injuries and disorders of the knee and shoulder.
He has a strong interest in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder, and ankle, and specializes in state of the art treatment of cartilage disorders of the knee. These treatments include biologics and cartilage restoration procedures, and joint arthroplasty.
Dr. Wilcox graduated from Worthington High School in Worthington, Ohio. After high school, he was appointed to the United States Military Academy where he played on the Army Varsity football team. After an injury, he transferred to the University of Cincinnati and where he graduated with honors. He earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Emory University.
During subsequent fellowship training at The Ohio State University, Dr. Wilcox cared for numerous Division I varsity athletes within a range of sports, including football, basketball, wrestling and swimming. Today he is the Orthopedic Consultant to Otterbein University, and Highland High School. He also volunteers his time as a team physician for Centerburg and Westerville Central High Schools.
