Finger Joint Arthritis and Joint Replacement Arthroplasty – Case 9

62 year old female who underwent a failed swan neck deformity reconstruction at an outside facility. The previous operation caused PIP joint arthritis ( less than 10 degrees of flexion), limited ring finger function due to quadrigia and a persistent swan neck deformity. The DIP joint of her small finger was fused to maximize flexion force at her PIP joint. Due to her extremely small size, a Swanson silastic PIP joint implant was implanted through her previous volar incision. The photographs are 10 days after PIP arthroplasty and two after of nominal PIP motion.
