About Dr. Nappi
Dr. Nappi began his career in medicine by attending medical school at The Ohio State University in Columbus. He completed his internship and surgical residency at Summa Akron City Hospital (part of the Summa Health System). He completed his plastic surgery residency at The Ohio State University, and his fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery at the Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Nappi has years of experience working with sports injuries and fractures in young athletes, wrist injuries (including minimally invasive fracture repair), arthritic conditions of the hand and wrist, using endoscopic tunnel release surgery for carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome, and Dupuytren’s Disease (with minimally invasive treatments, including needle aponeurotomy).
He is board-certified in plastic surgery, and he has a certificate of added qualifications in surgery of the hand. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery, and the American Society of Peripheral Nerve.
When he’s not working, he is an avid woodworker, and a National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) certified shotgun instructor.
Dr. Nappi retired from private practice and continues to work with the Board as counsel on special projects.
