What is a Ganglion Cyst?

A Ganglion Cyst is a benign cyst that commonly occurs in the front or back area of the wrist. It is a swelling on top of a joint or tendon. They can be painful and present as a large bump.

What causes a Ganglion Cyst?

The cause of Ganglion Cysts is not known presently, but medical professionals speculate that it is the result of joint trauma.

What are the symptoms?

Some of the symptoms you may experience if affected by a Ganglion Cyst are:

  • A bump on the wrist
  • Swelling appears bigger or smaller over time
  • If the cyst is near a tendon, you may experience weakness in that affected finger
